Research interest: Infectious diseases, animal models for infectious diseases, comparative pathology, digital and computational pathology



Llorenç Grau Roma joined the Institute of Animal Pathology (ITPA) in 2018, and the Compath Team in 2023. His main research interest are viral infectious diseases. In addition, he is involved in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students and in diagnostics.

·  2018 to present: 'Oberassistent' in Veterinary Pathology, ITPA, University of Bern, Switzerland

·  2017 to 2018: Clinical Associate Professor in Veterinary Pathology, School of Veterinary Medicine and Science (SVMS), University of Nottingham (UoN), UK

·  2014 to 2017: Clinical Assistant Professor in Veterinary Pathology, SVMS, UoN, UK

·  2009 to 2013: Residency in Veterinary Pathology for European College of Veterinary Pathology (ECVP) in the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), Catalonia, Spain.

·  2009: Six-month post-doctoral research fellow focused on a research project related with the efficacy of Porcine circovirus type 2 vaccine at the Research Center in Animal Health (CReSA), UAB, Catalonia, Spain

·  2005-2009. PhD Student. ‘New insights into the epidemiology of postweaning multisystemic wasting syndrome (PMWS)’. CReSA-UAB, Catalonia, Spain.

·  2004. Six months as Swine clinician.
